Jonber(HODL) - Edition 2
"Jonber" is a popular Korean slang term that means "enduring an incredibly difficult situation to the bitter end." This wooden figure, dangling precariously from a thin 1mm steel wire, perfectly captures the everyday struggles, exhaustion, and resilience of modern office workers and self-employed individuals in South Korea.
The fingertips of the "Jonber-man" are equipped with 5mm magnets, and the figure itself is beautifully finished with oil paint and wax. The top of the base, where the wire connects, features a hammered texture for a rugged look. To complete the piece, the entire base undergoes a high-temperature oil black coating process, providing both rust prevention and a sleek, matte aesthetic.
